Scientific programme

The scientific programme of 6WCOC will extend from monday July 6th in the morning to friday July 10th at lunch.
It will include 5 plenary lectures and 23 keynote communications which will all be given in morning plenary sessions.

Four parallel sessions will take place on monday, tuesday and thursday afternoon as well as thursday morning (after the coffea break) for oral communications (116 oral communications).

Two poster sessions will take place on tuesday and thursday afternoon.

Congress topics:

The Congress is intended to offer an update of recent innovation in fundamental and applied aspects and it is focussed on highlighting progress, new developments and new directions in oxidation.

Importance will be given to heterogeneous, homogeneous, bio- and enzymatic catalysis. Our goal is to give the opportunity to researchers from different fields of oxidation catalysis to exchange points of view, to meet convergence in the research domains and to take advantage of the progress, in order to create a synergy of knowledge.

We intend to promote an integrated approach of the aforementioned areas by considering their level of maturity and thus of readiness for implementation in real processes. The sessions will be organized according to the following topics:

1 - Fundamentals and analysis

  1. Fundamentals (surface science, mechanisms, modelling, etc.)

  2. Catalysts preparation. Novel catalysts. New advanced methods. Nanosized and nanostructured catalysts

  3. Characterization and in situ/operando analyses of catalysts

  4. Catalyst screening, including combinatorial

2 - Towards transferability: from fundamental to application

  1. New developments and new processes

  2. Reactors and processing

3 - Transferred technologies & industrial processes:

  1. Petrochemical: raws and intermediates

  2. Fine chemicals and pharmaceuticals

  3. Sustainable catalytic processes for environment and energy

All fields of oxidation catalysis will be addressed in each sub-topic in order to foster cross-fertilisation. The selection of abstracts within each sub-topic has been made by Expert Panels coordinated by two researchers involved in the field of catalytic oxidation (one french and one belgian).

The full list of coordinators and experts is available here.

Publication:

All accepted abstracts will by published in the "Book of abstracts" distributed to all the participants.

Proceedings:

A special volume of Catalysis Today (Elsevier) dedicated to 6WCOC will be published after the congress.

Due to limitation of the number of pages of this special volume, the Guest Editors will select among oral and poster communications presented at the meeting and invite their authors to submit a full paper.

Considering the huge number of abstracts submitted, the selection of communications invited to submit a publication will be made after the meeting on the basis of the abstract and of oral or poster presentation.
